Pharrell Williams will receive this year’s CFDA Fashion Icon Award in June. Past winners include: Johnny Depp, Kate Moss and Lady Gaga. However, Williams will be the second male recipient to win this prestigious award. President of CFDA Diane von Furstenberg said, “If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness. I cannot imagine anyone not being seduced by him.”

Rent the Runway Building Executive Team

The almost six year old company, Rent the Runway, has just signed on Alexis Bryan Morgan and Saks Fifth Avenue alum Sarah Tam to the team. Morgan will have the title as director of designer relations and special projects. As for Tam, she will be the senior vice president, merchandising and planning. Two other additions are Linda Honan as chief creative officer and Britt Morgan Saks as vice president of strategic partnerships.

“Dior and I”

Mayfair’s Curzon cinema hosted the London premiere of “Dior and I.” The film is by Frédéric Tcheng and follows Raf Simons’ emotionally first two months as artistic director at Dior. On top of seeing Simons and studio partner Pieter Mulier working at the house, viewers will see Dior’s atelier and artisans who work there. Fans can follow the artistic director as he starts to create his first couture collection with his modern take around Dior’s house codes, and how the atelier becomes accustomed to his new vision.
