How do celebs sparkle on the red carpet? They do it with high end jewelry, of course. But even if it isn’t your moment to shine in the spotlight just yet, adding the right touch of diamond or gold can up your look at a major event – whether it’s a wedding, a dinner party, or a night dancing at a club.

Here’s how the stars do it:

On hand to promote her latest collection, Jennifer Lopez looked dressy casual at the Coppel store Forum Buena Vista in Mexico City. Wearing a white jacket over a black jumpsuit, her outfit stood out thanks to her Mattia Cielo diamond hoop earrings. JLo might wear diamond hoop earrings on a daily basis, but you can pull yours out for a special occasion, or wear costume jewelry. Here’s a pair that’s not as pricey:

Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks has worn her share of showstopping outfits to the latest Mad Men premieres. (Mad Men’s last 7 episodes start April 15.) But it’s the jewelry that truly made a statement. Hendricks wore three Le Vian rose gold and chocolate diamond rings while attending the premiere at The Museum of Modern Art. You can fake the look of chocolate diamonds with smokey topaz CZ.
