Elie Tahari Designs Home Accessories

Elie Tahari has announced a new housewares partnership with Lifetime Brands Inc. consisting of Elie Tahari-branded tableware, glassware and entertaining accessories. The debut collection includes six dinnerware patterns and three glassware motifs. They will be unveiled to buyers at the New York Tabletop Market this week. Pieces will be available this fall, with four-piece place settings priced between $80 and $220. The designs were inspired by Tahari’s two homes in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Collections are named after his favorite destinations, including Montauk’s Navy Beach and SoHo’s Prince Street.

Lancôme Launching Digital Platform

Today, Lancôme is launching a participative site, It’s an interactive game where downloaded portraits are customized with stickers of iconic products, Paris symbols and textures. Artist Leslie David created the illustrations. Portraits of brand ambassadors, including Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz and Kate Winslet, will be found on the site. Ten lucky participants will be invited to the party Lancôme is hosting in Paris on July 7th to celebrate its eightieth anniversary.

Big Changes at Avon and Procter & Gamble

Beauty companies Procter & Gamble and Avon Products Inc. are reportedly looking to divest problematic parts of their businesses. P&G has been shopping its beauty portfolio for months, and now Avon is considering selling its North American operations. This week, Avon’s investors drove its stock up 14.2 percent to $9.15. P&G’s stock quietly climbed 0.2 percent to $83.60. Beauty rival Coty once offered $10.7 billion for Avon in 2012, but Avon decided to continue alone.
