Fern Mallis’ Fashion Icon Book
Fern Mallis, industry icon and creator of New York Fashion Week, signed copies of her new book at Saks Fifth Avenue. Ralph Lauren declined the interview and instead wrote the forward of her book.
LVMH Debuts New Website
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has launched an updated corporate website. The welcome page shows bird’s-eye views of the new Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation museum. The visually dynamic site provides information about the luxury conglomerate and its 70 brands. Lvmh.com also features social media content links and a behind-the-scenes tour of Vuitton’s Paris headquarters.
J.Crew’s Saving the Bees
J.Crew is helping the diminishing bee population. In honor of Earth Day today, the brand launched a Save the Bees campaign and an exclusive collection of tees for women and children. Fifty percent of the profits from the tees will go to the Xerces Society, a nonprofit company benefiting wildlife and its habitat. Artist Donald Robertson illustrated the adorable tops, which are available online and in stores. More than 75 percent of the world’s crops are dependent on pollination from bees, who are responsible for $20 billion in agricultural production. Who would have thought?!
