Behati Prinsloo For Raw Spirit
Namibian fashion model Behati Prinsloo has been named the first face of the fragrance brand, Raw Spirit. “For me Behati just embodied the name, Raw Spirit,” said photographer Russell James, founder of the fragrance. James photographed Prinsloo on the lands of the Seminole Tribe in Florida for the campaign. Prinsloo appears in different looks for each of Raw Spirit’s six scents. James, who is also the founder of Nomad Two Worlds, an entertainment and lifestyle brand that collaborates with Indigenous communities, said he expects to evolve into other things outside of fragrance. Raw Spirit has collaborated with Australia’s Nyoogar people, farming communities in Haiti, the Native American Chumash Museum of California and the Seminole Tribe of Florida in order to sustainably source natural ingredients for each fragrance. The fragrances start at $40 for a .25 oz bottle and go up to $90 for a 1 oz bottle. The campaign will debut today on rawspirit.com. Fragrances are available online and at Barneys.
Glamsquad Adds Nail Services
On-demand, in-home beauty booking app, Glamsquad, has added manicures and pedicures to their list of services. The app currently operates in New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. Nail services will initially only be available in Manhattan, but will subsequently be added to the other markets. Manicures are priced at $35, pedicures are $50, and together they cost $75. The company has partnered exclusively with nail polish brand Essie, and although they do not currently offer gel polishes, they plan to do so in the future. In addition to nails, Glamsquad also offers hair and makeup services. Clients can book any services they like from the Glamsquad app or website, and a trained beauty professional will come to them, wherever they are, to complete the service. Glamsquad plans to debut in other U.S. cities soon.
Covet Fashion’s Styling App
The CFDA has partnered with Covet Fashion, an interactive styling app, to showcase up-and-coming brands through its in-app games. The app’s 2.5 million users will be able to style real products that are directly linked to each designer’s e-commerce site. “Mobile is the fastest-growing commercial channel right now and engaging with a brand and their product versus just passively looking at pictures is crucial,” said Blair Ethington, senior vice president of brands and marketing at Covet Fashion. The CFDA will utilize Covet Fashion’s 600,000 daily users who spend a minimum of 60 minutes on the app every day. The app allows users to create head-to-toe looks using cartoon versions of real designer clothing, shoes and accessories. It currently features brands like Nicole Miller, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Rebecca Minkoff and Cynthia Rowley.
