Welcome to CE week, New York City’s largest consumer electronics (CE) and technology event. A collaboration of the tech and fashion industries will showcase the latest high-tech fashions and wearable tech for trendsetters. Produced by Living in Digital Times, exhibits, conferences and other events for CE Week take place for three days starting on June 24th at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 W 18th Street between 6th and 7th Ave).
The LIVE FashionWare runway begins at 6:00 pm and is sure to produce incredible photographs and video. The designs are futuristic and mind-opening, some including jewelry and bags that contain chips that can connect you with text, photos, video and documents within seconds. The emcee will be no other than Project Runway’s Chris March, who you may remember on behalf of his elegant ball gowns, outlandish hats and wigs, and vivacious character. March commented on the upcoming event, “Geek can be chic. It’s exciting to see technologists and fashion designers working side by side to create beautiful, stylish, yet functional fabrics and wearable tech accessories for all the fashionistas out there.”
Before the runway at 5 pm on the lower level will be an expert panel on “Red Carpet Wearable Tech.” Additionally, the hit electro-pop band Sidney York will provide a live performance while donning Angela Dale original designs that will synchronize to their music.
Designers whose pieces will be featured on the catwalk include Zoe Klintberg, Som Kong, Valerie Lamontagne, Kevin Loney, Maria Orduz Pinto, Robert Tu, and Michael Zoffranieri.
