Alexander McQueen has designed three new pairs of the designer’s infamous Armadillo boots to help raise money for earthquake victims in Nepal. All three pairs of boots were made in Italy from wood and Python skin, and were designed by Lee Alexander McQueen. They will be making they’re debut at the spring/summer 2010 show, Plato’s Atlantis. Examples of these boots are currently being displayed at the Savage Beauty exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum until August 2nd, but will be sold as part of the Christie’s Handbags & Accessories Auction starting today at 12:00 noon EST, and will run until July 23. All proceeds will be donated to the U.S. fund for Unicef and may be purchased through their auction site, christies.com/onlineonly.

Lanvin Exhibition at Paris Museum

French fashion house, Lanvin will be displaying over 350 photographs captured by professionals and staffers in “Alber Elbaz/Lanvin: Manifeste” at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. The photos are set to capture the inner works of Lanvin and is being categorized as an “introspective” exhibition that takes viewers into the creative process behind the art. Lanvin also offers backstage footage with voiceovers provided by the designer and will be at the museum September 9th – October 31st!

Metail Launches ‘Clueless’ Inspired Designs

British specialty fitting technology firm Metail is launching their e-commerce site, cherwears.com today allowing shoppers to try on and purchase clothing items that fit the looks of the characters depicted in the film, ‘Clueless.’ In the 1995 film, Cher prepares her everyday looks using a digital application to dress up and organize her closet. Metail’s MeModel Technology allows shoppers to also utilize this same technology while shopping using brands chosen by Metail including Little Mistress, Oasis, Top Shop, Asos, Missguided, Boohoo, and New Look all ranging from $8 to $730 that depict the look.
