Gap Has a New Strategy to Win Back Customers

Gap, famously known for celebrity-driven ad campaigns, has replaced famous people for models in its fall-winter 2015 ads. The campaign is relatively simple: it features models up against a plain backdrop. This is a far cry from Gap’s most recent ad campaigns, which have been a series of misfires. Gap hired supermodels Andreea Diaconu, Liu Wen, Karolin Wolter, Aya Jones and Angel Rut. The campaign is relatively simple: it features models up against a plain backdrop.

L’Occitane Teams With Glamsquad

Beginning on Tuesday, L’Occitane will provide Glamsquad’s artists with an assortment of L’Occitane’s skin care for pre- and post-makeovers when clients book through the on-demand beauty app’s one-on-one consultations and services. To celebrate the collaboration, L’Occitane and Glamsquad will offer consumers a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the South of France for two, and a years’ worth of Glamsquad makeovers. Entrants can apply online at usa.loccitane.com/beautyofprovence between Aug. 4 and Aug. 14. One winner will be selected on Aug. 17.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Launch Young Contemporary Line

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are set to debut their own line, Kendall + Kylie, for spring 2016. Given their enormous reach — a combined 72 million social followers — the youngest members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan are poised to cash in on a lucrative fashion venture. The young contemporary line — all pieces retail for under $250 — is dress and top heavy, but comprises a range of styles from jeans, jumpsuits and trench coats, as well as swimsuits and cover-ups, manufactured by 3072541 Canada Inc. Kendall + Kylie will also launch a shoe collection manufactured by Marc Fisher Footwear. Tops will wholesale between $35 and $55, bottoms between $30 and $50, dresses between $65 and $75, top and skirt sets between $75 and $95, and jackets between $75 and $105. Materials range from silk charmeuse to twill and lambskin.
