Sephora’s New Subscription Box

Sephora is entering the subscription-box space (who isn’t?). Starting in 2016, the beauty retailer is launching its Play! By Sephora service across the US. In a move that seems quite obvious to many, Sephora’s new curated box will be $10 monthly and will be centered around a specific theme. The beauty giant will be test-marketing 10,000 Play! By Sephora boxes in Boston, Columbus and Cincinnati in September. The boxes will be accompanied by a card that offers one-on-one in-store tutorials, a Spotify playlist and bonus samples.

Louboutin Debuts Photo-Filter App

In the wake of the announcement of Louboutin’s new lipstick line, the designer is debuting a new photo-filtering app that will ‘Louboutinize’ your photos. Available today, the app will turn everything the brand’s signature shade of red or give it a crystal effect, reminiscent of Louboutin’s nail lacquer. The French brand will also feature the most creative submissions weekly on its social media platforms. Louboutin will add filters on a monthly basis, and will launch a men’s app in September.

Macy’s Planning Show for Fashion Week

Macy’s is participating in New York Fashion Week with its own spectacle at Madison Square Garden. Dubbed “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” it will be the department store’s biggest fashion show ever with more than 60 models wearing around 150 looks. Music and dance will also be incorporated in the September 17th event at MSG. The event will be aired on E! on September 23rd and will include interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and moments from NYFW. One-hundred percent of the proceeds of ticket sales will support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the CFDA.
