What’s one trend you are going to start seeing everywhere this fall? Distressed black jeans. Now, before you think you are too old or unhip to pull this trend off, trust me you can if you follow these rules. First, make sure the denim is as dark as you can find – as in black as night black (leave the grey hues and acid washes for the younger set). Second, look for skinny and boyfriend cuts (they can be long or cropped and even frayed at the hem). Lastly, and this is very important, make sure they are not over destroyed or you will appear as if you are trying too hard. Look for pairs that have rips at the knees and maybe one or two more at the hip or somewhere on the upper part of the leg that’s not in a vulgar area. The more destroyed the jean, the more you should stay away.
Pair your black distressed jeans with everything from a blazer, to a leather jacket to a classic trench and wear with heels, booties or slip-on sneakers. Basically wear them with anything!
Take a look at some of the pairs I found at virtually every price point (from Rag & Bone to Express). They were easy to find because as I mentioned before this is going to be a hot trend – they are already in most stores. It doesn’t matter how much you pay, as long as they make you look and feel good!
