Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to wear a vest without looking ridiculous. Trust me when I say vests are a great alternative to a jacket, especially as we transition to fall. This wardrobe must-have serves as a key staple that can amp up a number of outfits in your current closet.
A few things to consider when styling a vest:
• Opt for a fitted or belted silhouette to define your shape.
• Play with different textures like wool, leather and tweeds to add visual interest to your outfit.
• If you’re new to the whole vest game, pick a neutral color that you can wear with a variety of pieces in your current wardrobe.
• Another pro of the vest? It can be dressed up or down depending on how you style it. Wear it over a dress, rock it with denim and booties, or pair it on top of leather leggings with a basic tee and pointy-toe flats for a comfy, but oh-so stylish and easy look.
