The best offense to anti-aging is a good defense and while you may think it’s most important to repair skin at night, it’s just as imperative to support your skin’s daytime defenses. Kiehl’s has just introduced their Daily Reviving Concentrate which is a lightweight facial oil that awakens, revitalizes and energizes the look of fatigued skin – so skin looks as fresh at the end of the day as it did at the beginning!
In a recent survey (by Vera Quest, Online Omnibus Study) of 1,800 women ages 35 and older from the US, UK, China and South Korea, the average response when asked “how many years older do you look due to skin fatigue?” was 5.4 years older! Additional studies have validated that “tired looking skin” is a global beauty issue, ranking as the #2 concern in Japan, #3 in France, and #4 in the U.S.
Although skin is dedicated to repairing itself at night, during the day it is hard at work defending itself from attack by environmental aggressors and oxidative stress. After a full day of battling to protect itself from damage, skin shows signs of fatigue, which causes it to look older, due to the prominent appearance of lines as well as dull, dehydrated, rough and tired-looking skin.
Offering skin with its own daytime defense system to revitalize and help reduce the signs of skin fatigue, Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate features a specifically selected, highly concentrated blend of 100% natural origin ingredients. This oil specifically for daytime use was designed to reduce daily environmentally induced oxidation, this non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic, mineral-oil free, water-free and paraben-free formula is ultra lightweight and quickly absorbing, which helps strengthen and protect the skin barrier for a smooth, fresh and healthy look all day long.
Scientific research on Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate’s key ingredients also revealed the following:
- Ginger Root Oil: This essential oil is known to protect skin cells from UVA-induced lipid peroxidation and significantly reduce the release of pro-inflammatory markers.
- Sunflower Seed Oil: This botanical oil is known to increase skin hydration, reduce the appearance of redness and improve skin smoothness. It also has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to stimulate receptors involved in skin barrier lipids synthesis and corneocyte’s maturation.
- Tamanu Oil: This botanical oil is known to its emollient properties to lock moisture in the skin. In addition, due to its composition rich in lipids such as linoleic acid that are important in healthy looking skin, it has protecting properties that inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory markers, which within the formula soothe the skin.
Another one of my favorite Kiehl’s products that’s not new, but has recently been made more super and is vital for daytime skin protection (and one I wear every day) is their Super Multi-Corrective Cream with Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30.
Kiehl’s introduced their Super Multi-Corrective Cream in 2013 to such critical acclaim, it currently sells at a rate of one per minute! This new version provides broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection to help decrease the risk of early skin aging caused by the sun.
Most people are exposed to large amounts of UVA and UVB radiation throughout a lifetime that can have devastating effects on their health and appearance. In fact, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, more than 90% of the visible changes commonly attributed to skin aging are caused by the sun. Despite this evidence, many are reluctant to wear sunscreens for cosmetic reasons. The addition of SPF 30 in this cream provides broad-spectrum UV protection to help protect against the early signs of skin aging caused by the sun.
So Kiehl’s chemists formulated Super Multi-Corrective Cream with SPF 30 with the company’s first-ever combination of three ingredients: Beech Tree Extract, Jasmine Flower Extract, and Sodium Hyaluronate. This new formula helps visibly improve skin’s resilience, redefine the appearance of contours and smooth the look of lines. Instantly skin feels intensely hydrated, texture looks refined and pores are less visible. And of course, the addition of SPF 30 in this cream provides broad-spectrum UV protection to help protect against the early signs of skin aging caused by the sun.
Wearing this cream with the Daily Reviving Concentrate is an anti-aging one-two punch!
Kiehl’s has collaborated on something pretty special to celebrate the launch of Super Multi-Corrective Cream’s new formula! Extremely large bagel sculptures have been on display in lower Manhattan since earlier this summer as part of a public art installation in which Kiehl’s participated. Kiehl’s partnered with Art Production Fund to present artist Hanna Liden’s Everything, a public art installation in Hudson River Park, Ruth Wittenberg Plaza, and Kiehl’s Flagship Store on 13th and 3rd in the East Village.
On display now through Oct. 20, Everything presents a much-beloved New York staple – the bagel – in an unexpected context, in public spaces, as large-scale carved versions, both individually and in stacks as makeshift vases.
