Stella McCartney Unveils Latest Lingerie Designs

For October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month Stella McCartney has designed lingerie for the second year in support. Titled the Alina Playing range: a balconette bra, a soft-cup bra and a bikini brief all in hot pink, will retail for $55 for the briefs and $110 for the bras and will be donated to three breast cancer charities. The charities included are: Linda McCartney Centre in England, the National Breast Cancer Foundation in the U.S., and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Australia. Cara Delevingne models for the line and as part of the campaign McCartney will also launch Louise Listening, a post double-mastectomy compression bra.

Barneys New York Launching App

Today Barneys New York will launch an app for its women’s magalogue, “The Window in Print”, available at the Apple store. It has printed 165,000 copies of the fall women’s version and 70,000 of the new men’s magalogue. Every item in both issues is easily shoppable. Senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, Daniella Vitale said, “We wanted to make sure that a lot of people are able to see the app. We didn’t want it to be just a catalog or a PDF that you download from the Web site. Making it available through the Apple store is a new thing for us. It means more eyeballs.”

Cosmopack Coming Back

On September 16 to 17, many of the biggest power players in the beauty industry will converge at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel for the Cosmopack International Business Forum & Exhibition. It is designed to bring together many facets of the cosmetics supply chain along with buyers and distributors from the U.S. market. There will be networking opportunities and sessions on the latest technology, packaging, manufacturing and much more.
