The Great Tree Lighting
Macy’s on State Street
111 N State Street

This year Macy’s welcomes TV/Radio host and producer, Ryan Seacrest and a 4-year-old Make-A-Wish® child to kick off Macy’s Believe campaign and the holiday season with the lighting of the Great Tree in the historic Walnut Room on Saturday, November 8 at Noon. Joining the celebration and singing three songs this year is Lee DeWyze, winner of the ninth season of American Idol. This year marks the 107th lighting of the Great Tree in the Walnut Room. The Great Tree stands 45 feet tall and is adorned with 3,000 ornaments and 6,000 sparkling LED lights. New this year, will be a light show bringing the tree to life through 4 color themes each hour.
Macy’s will also unveil their iconic holiday windows along State Street. Viewing of the theme, “The Journey of a Christmas Wish” begins at store opening at 9:00 a.m. This year’s windows combines traditional old school artistry with gorgeous visual elements that follows our heroin’s imagination as she mails her wish list to Santa at Macy’s on State Street. Spectators will follow a fantasy voyage through Santa’s workshop with adorable hard working Elves, to Santa’s journey to deliver gifts around the world and concludes with Santa and Rudolph checking their list in front of the famous State Street Great Clock.
