Makeup Bag Upgrade: Five New Color Palettes

Fountain of 30

When you are on-the-go, and especially when you need to do a ‘5 minute’ face, carrying loads of products in your bag can be just too much. No one wants to fumble in their makeup bag, only to find their favorite gloss at the bottom of the bag. That’s why I love palettes! Palettes are the solution to makeup clutter and also give you several options in one. I am all over the new palettes this season and I would love to share them with you.

My absolute favorite new palette (that I can’t get enough of) is Smashbox’s The Master Class Palette. Where do I start? This Palette is everything and more. Ever since I opened it, I have used it on every face I have done. Inspired by the products Smashbox artists bring on set, this palette has almost everything you need for a complete face, including 28 gorgeous Photo Op eye shadows, 4 brow tech powders (love), 8 cream eyeliners, 2 blushes, 3 soft lights, and 4 lip glosses. This just might be one of my favorites of all time.

We all love some great neutrals, and with the holiday season coming we also need a little dazzle. Well, Lorac’s Unzipped Palette features 10 highly pigmented, wearable matte and shimmer eye shadows that look fab on everyone. Whether trying a nude eye or a smokey brown eye, this palette has some of the most flattering browns and shimmers I have ever seen. It’s definitely a must.

And it gets even better! For those who have been drooling and hawking over the first Naked Palette by Urban Decay, well there’s a new version of our favorite: Naked Palette 2. There’s a reason why this palette could not stay on the shelves when it was first released. It is a blend of the perfect nudes that will seamlessly take you from day to night. Unlike the first palette with bronze neutrals, this one has an amazing blend of taupe’s, grey-beige neutrals and 5 new shades. If you don’t already have this palette, you may want to go get it.

So if you are a lover of Urban Decay’s palettes, they have another one that you will love if you like just a little more color. Urban Decay’s Vice Palette is a palette full of 20 hot colors that were created exclusively for this collection. If you love a little more boldness to your eyes, this has a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers, neutrals and brights and the colors are beautiful. They are very high pigmented, rich in color, and velvet to the touch. This palette also includes a double ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush to help with your application. You’ll love this one.

Last but not least is one of my favorite brands for eye shadows, Dior. Dior’s ‘Au Natural’ Nude Palette is a gorgeous face palette for your face, lips, and eyes. You can complete a very nice nude look with three satin and shimmery eye shadows, two glosses, and one of my faves by Dior, their bronzer. The bronzer alone sold me, but to have such a luxurious palette for your whole face seals the deal.
