I’m already a fan of Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Oil Shampoo, so when I received a sample of the new Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Oil-in-Cream I was eager to try it. I usually put some form of oil on my hair after it has been dried, but sometimes feel like I could use a cream for a little more control and had yet to find any I like. So I was pleased to see someone finally came out with a cream and oil in one!

This multi-use cream not only nourishes and softens dry and/or curly hair, it rapidly absorbs into the the hair fiber to control frizz and create shine. It contains nourishing camellia oil that re-balances the moisture level of hair instantly and makes it resistant to humidity and more manageable. As soon as I used it my hair felt super soft and had a shine I had not seen in a long time. Better yet, it provides UV protection, is safe for color treated hair and smells fantastic.

Before you balk at the price, do note a little goes a long way. In fact, I made the mistake of using too much and my hair looked greasy within a few hours…so use sparingly. Now I know to just use a pea-size amount on my wet hair before I blow it dry. However, once you figure out the proper amount for your hair, I promise you will love this nourishing oil-in-cream as much as I do.
