Beauty: Brow Grooming 101

Fountain of 30

When it comes to brows I am extremely picky about the products I use for them. I am always on the hunt for the perfect pencil. My brows are very thin, so grooming them is very important. If I don’t fill in my brows, it will throw off my whole look. Brows can definitely make or break your look, and grooming them is essential. Here are my top five brow products that I know you will love.

One of my all-time favorite brow products is Vanity Mark Eyebrow pencils. The cocoa choco color is perfect for my brows. But what I love more is that the pencils have a bit of wax to them, that ‘grabs’ your brow hairs, lays them down and tames them. It gives brows a very natural soft color, and my brows literally do not move all day!

Next is my newest favorite, It Cosmetics Brow Power. I have talked about this pencil before, but it’s worth another mention. This was the first and only universal brow pencil that I have ever tried that matches any brow color. I was skeptical at first, because my brows are pretty dark, but I was completely amazed at how dark it became. The key to this pencil is the amount of pressure you apply to your stroke. Lighter strokes will give you lighter color and stronger strokes will give you darker color. It’s just that simple. Toss out your many pencils, this all-in-one does it all.

What do you get from a brow king, who has sculpted the brows of 99% percent of Hollywood? You get the most fabulous brow products to go with your fabulous brows. Even though I have not had my brows done by this brow guru, it doesn’t mean I couldn’t at least try the products on my own. And let’s just say, I absolutely adore Damone Roberts brow products, especially the brow pencil and powder in Minx. It’s a wonderful blend of powder and wax in a pencil that gently tames and colors your hairs for hair-like precision.

We all love great drugstore finds, and yes, I have found the perfect brow pencil for under $10. Maybelline EyeStudio Master Shape has changed how I view inexpensive finds. This pencil works better than some expensive pencils, and costs less than half. The wax formula really tames the brow, but it also has the softest color pigment, that makes the hair of your brows look more hair-like than drawn on. I keep many of these around, as I can not stand to be without one of my favorite brow pencils.

Last but not least, if you want ultra precision when it comes to your brows, then you must try Kevyn Aucoin’s Precision Brow Pencil. With it’s very fine tip and the thinnest lead available, The Precision Brow Pencil may be applied with short, thin strokes for a natural-looking finish or simply smudge in to enhance color. Packaged in a slim, retractable tube and accompanied by an attached brow spoolie for expert grooming, it’s all you need for perfect precise brows.
