Cindy Crawford is celebrating the launch of her new book, Becoming, with book signings all over the country and she made a stop at Barnes and Noble at Wesfield Old Orchard near Chicago! It was unbelievable to see the supermodel walking around the bookstore and I was even more amazed to have to opportunity to interview her. I literally let out a quiet scream when she walked into the room wearing a studded dark denim pencil skirt, a cream silk shirt and leopard print heels. She is so stunning yet genuinely warm and real. You can chalk it up to her Midwestern roots. She comes through Chicago fairly regularly and told me she was meeting up with some of her high school friends later that evening. Can you envision of a group of ladies at a table and heads turning because one of them is Cindy Crawford?
The night before her book signing I read a copy of her book Becoming by Cindy Crawford and was fascinated. I read it forward and backwards and it was loaded with gorgeous photos. It was both a walk down memory lane viewing photos by Victor Screbneski, Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton and also quite an eye opener. A model’s life is not an easy life! There are interesting segments about working with each of the photographers and her road to success as a model. Even Cindy was fortunate to have the support of her mother and family so she made the right decisions along the way. Read my entire interview with Cindy Crawford on Fountain Of 30!
