What we wouldn’t give to not have to put on mascara everyday. Or, as much as we love the Shu Uemura eyelash curler, we would dump it in the garbage if our eyelashes just looked that way when we woke up every morning. Well, the purveyors of youth over at Allergan, who sold us skin rejuvenation with BOTOX, have found a new way to keep us looking young. They just announced the intent to file a New Drug Application for bimatoprost as
a novel treatment to stimulate natural eyelash growth.
Obviously the treatment awaits approval by the FDA, but in clinical trials when
applied directly to the base of the eyelashes,
bimatoprost resulted in significant eyelash growth. FDA approval is anticipated in 2009, and we can’t wait to hear what the drug’s snazzy and user-friendly name will be! We’re thinking we’d rather renew our youth by having the long, thick, dewy eyelashes of a child, and avoid the injections to get the skin of one…
