Designer Tracy Reese and Jack Herschlag, executive director of the National Association of Men’s Sportswear Buyers (NAMSB) will be honored at New York City’s High School of Fashion Industries’ (HSFI) 81st anniversary celebration and student fashion show on May 23. André Leon Talley will present Reese with the Designer of the Year Award, while Herschlag will be given his accolade by Joseph Abboud. The annual HSFI fundraising event serves helps attain funding for essential learning tools like computers, cameras and other specialized classroom equipment for the high school. In addition to honoring notable industry leaders who have used their career success to better the range of opportunity for those less fortunate, the evening also spotlights HSFI’s talent pool with a runway presentation featuring fashions created and modeled by students.
