Has the basic white, men’s wear style shirt really ever gone out of style? No. Thankfully I haven’t tossed all of mine because it’s back with a vengeance this fall. What? You don’t have one (or four)? Don’t worry, the modern version has some stretch and many are still easy to find for less than the cost of a massage.

How to wear your white shirt this fall:

1. Tucked in to wide-leg pants, a fab belt and high-heeled spectators.

2.  Untucked with skinny leg black pants and ballet flats (think Audrey Hepburn)

Great choices! I know Talbots is generally shunned by fashionistas, but they also makes some really dynamite classic white shirts (also wrinkle resistant and with a bit of stretch), and for us shorties they’re available in Petite sizes too.

Good add! You are right. There are actually a lot of great places to buy the classic white shirt that are not expensive…even Gap, Old Navy, H&M, etc.
I figure save on the shirt and blow the extra on a fab pair of shoes!
