Like all girls, I love shoes, especially high heels. Naturally I’ve
been delighted to see how they’ve been climbing skyward for the past
few seasons, with platforms and wedges augmenting already towering
heels. What’s so great about these styles is how easy to wear they are
– all that extra material cushions your feet in a way that spiky
stilettos just can’t. Here’s a few of my favorite pairs:

These bold red Marc by Marc Jacobs wedges with
ribbon ties will make you four and a quarter inches taller and at least
ten times more stylish. One thing they won’t do, however, is hurt your
feet. The one inch platform and soft cotton upper make this one plush
sandal. Besides, red shoes are perfect with this summer’s nautical-inspired looks (they also come in black, but don’t you own enough black shoes already?)

Sometimes, though, you need a shoe that plays back up instead of the lead. These woven leather Terry de Havilland platform wedges
are the ideal complement to bright colors and intricate prints –
although they are too interesting to be described as basic, their rich
brown shade won’t steal the show. In fact, these ankle-strapped
beauties deserve an Oscar for their best-supporting role. Read more here
