Michael Smith Interior Designer Signs The Curated Home at RH Chicago

Last week RH Chicago, the amazing Restoration Hardware showroom in the Gold Coast, hosted a reception for renowned interior designer Michael S. Smith and his new book, The Curated House. After exploring the spellbinding maze of gorgeous rooms, I joined the party on the fourth floor at The Gallery at the Three Arts Club where the very dapper Michael S. Smith was greeting guests and signing books. The vast, open rooms are filled with modern paintings and sculptures – the perfect setting for such an event.

Smith’s award-winning work has appeared in Architectural Digest’s “The AD 100,” multiple times and Elle Decor named him Designer of the Year. Additionally, the Obama family hired him to redecorate the residential quarters of the White House in 2008. The Curated House traces the origins and influences of Smith’s impeccable design philosophy that has landed him such high profile jobs.

RH Chicago, The Gallery at the Three Arts Club signifies the brand’s initial foray into hospitality with a seamlessly integrated culinary offering by celebrated restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff, which includes the Three Arts Club Café, the Three Arts Club Wine Vault & Tasting Room, and the Three Arts Club Pantry & Espresso Bar. The Gallery also features the first in-store presentation of RH’s newest business concepts, RH Modern and RH TEEN. Reclaimed, restored and reimagined, RH Chicago spans nearly 70,000 total square feet across six floors, unveiling a glass-and-steel-enclosed Grand Courtyard, a Rooftop Park & Conservatory and a Lounge with Historic Performance Stage, marking one of the most significant architectural undertakings of its kind.
