Summary: In trying to figure out how to begin this summary, all I could come up with is this: Dennis Basso blew me away.

Not the most poetic lead, but an accurate description of my take on the designer's Degas-inspired collection. Ballerina-like cocktail dresses floated down the runway, with layers of organza and taffeta stealing the show from furs and skins. Still, the use of his traditional medium is exquisite, with a mink bolero the perfect compliment to a bubble dress, or a python bustier leading into a floor-length chiffon gown. Colors, textures and designs harmonize to create clothing that is delicate, romantic, sensual.

Basso has long desiring to shift public-held perception of him from "furrier" to "designer." With this collection, the transition is complete.

Color Palette: Bronze, platinum, cream, butter, rose, poppy and navy

Fabrics & Textures: Organza, voille, crepe de chine, taffeta, mink, sable, broadtail, chinchilla and python
