Summary: Tadashi Shoji's Fall '09 Collection was filled with romanticism, color and sculptural components. There was an ensemble perfect for all social occasions, whether cocktail hour, a daytime wedding or an evening event. I was a little hesitant when I first sat down at Tadashi's show. When I think of this label, it brings me back to prom dress shopping in high school. Luckily, I found there to be a modern, updated take on the label. The jewel tone silk organza mini dresses with an Oscar de la Renta resemblance were elegantly refined. While I appreciate and understand the concept of the large sculptural sleeves (like on the rose number), it was a bit much for the average day. In an editorial photo shoot, yes. Outside of that, it had too many similarities to Princess Lea's buns.

Color Palette: Geranium, rose, black, hyacinth, ivory, chartreuse, clover

Textures & Details: Silk organza, taffeta, brocade, wool, satin, sculpted sleeves, tulip and petal motif, beading, pleating

Key Looks:
Black brocade belted coat; rose silk organza tulip dress; black satin strapless sculpted dress
