NY Fashion Week Spring ’08. Reem Acra Lets The Garden Grow. Second City Style Fashion Blog

Fountain of 30

Summary:  Reem Acra, the wedding gown guru known for gorgeous gowns with intricate beadwork and stunning bridal collections, knows how to wow on the runway too.  Her captivating collection, filled with organza cap-sleeve confections, sweeping circle skirts, silk coats, slinky sheaths, and plisse collars seemed perfect for a high society spring garden party. Pretty floral and bouquet patterns and bright yellow-gold, green, red and violet frocks makes the sun come out on a dreary day.  Each pattern, stitch, bow, draping and tuck was detailed and outfits were cinched to perfection with a bold belt in a variety of colors and patterns.  Each finishing touch was exquisite, even the shoes, which were finished in 22 Karat Gold. I envisioned buyers to be the ladies that lunch and later, mingle at refined dinner parties in classic black and white Victorian gowns amidst violins (the violin music at the show bellowed the theme of Love Story.) Reem Acra said her collection was about fresh and ethereal looks of luxury and she certainly proved it!
