NY Fashion Week Spring ’08. Custo Barcelona’s Over-the-Top Eurochic. Second City Style Fashion Blog

Fountain of 30

September 12, 2007 • New York Fashion Week Spring '08

Summary: Is Custo Barcelona ready for ready-to-wear? That remains to be seen. His over-the-top collection, filled with psychedelic and geometric 60s prints with a sequined futuristic space age sheen, turned his show into a wild Spanish fiesta rather then a professional haute couture line. Still, the sets exploded off the runway, down to the peep-toes and oxford booties worn in clashing prints. All blouses, gowns, maxi coats and motocross jackets were patented with a metallic sheen that was seen throughout the show. Still, in a somewhat muted fashion world with solids in subdued colors taking over the runway, Custo was a welcome color addition and his purple, silver, blue, white, gold, red, and fuschia definitely makes his collection pop.
