When I got asked to be a Guest Editor for Last Call by Neiman Marcus, it really seemed to good to be true. It’s easy, they said, just go through the Last Call by Neiman Marcus spring fashions and make a fantasy closet of what you’d love to be wearing this season. Seemed easy enough and fun! But it wasn’t until I had scrolled through the staggering amount of amazing pieces on the site did I realize I had my work cut out for me!

The repertoire of labels they carry is pretty incredible—Michael Kors, Alice + Olivia, L.A.M.B., Pour la Victoire, Diane von Furstenberg, BCBGMAXAZRIA—as are the deals that are offered daily. I was floored to see the selection of shoes and handbags (not just bargain basement castoffs) as well as the men’s and women’s apparel which boasts everything from separates and outerwear to loungewear and jewelry. Basically, boasted all the wares of a department store but offered a great deal on each and every item. Needless to say, it was hard to narrow the selection down to a special few.

My final picks embodied the style statement I hope to make this spring and summer. As soon as the weather turns warm, I absolutely live in dresses (I can’t stand shorts), and this year I wanted to find some really versatile pieces that could be dressed up or down, depending on my schedule involving a fashion event downtown or drinks with friends on a patio. I also wanted to channel the feminine, retro-inspired vibe that turned up everywhere on spring runways (and that I’ve fallen in love with on Mad Men!)

So I plucked out a full-skirted ladylike dress with an edgy watercolor print and chunky wedges in the softest dove gray hue. A croc clutch and a classically-styled, vintage-looking day bag will keep all my chic essentials safe. And silver droplet earrings that, at first glance could be family heirlooms, but upon closer inspection are actually quite modern are a subtle bit of sparkle. To top it off, I chose a little treat for my home: a jasmine candle, my favorite floral scent that reminds me of my time in India and Thailand, the flower commonly used there for celebrations. And why shouldn’t we celebrate? Spring is here and its time to have fun and look great doing it! I hope you enjoy my spring fashion picks and have as much fun as I did shopping the trends at!
