We braved the heat to check out this sale and fashion show at Daley Plaza, and left duly impressed with the up-and-coming designers who attended at this event.

First, we met Melissa Serpico, a recent Art Institute graduate and creator of sleek wide leg trousers (love those!), breezy little dresses, and unique chain-link style metallic leather bracelets (www.serpico-collection.com).  We also checked out the latest jewelry by Chicago designer Erin Gallagher (www.egjewelry.com), who happens to be opening her own boutique in the West Loop this fall.

Another standout was Kate Boggiano (www.kateboggiano.com), a label exclusively dedicated to tops and blouses – and specializing seems to be working for them, because we loved their feminine chiffon halter tops and gracefully tailored shirts.  Local favorite lingerie brand EvLove (www.evloveintimates.com) was there as well, along with indie boutique Habit (www.habitchicago.com) and boqUe bags, makers of classic leather bags done in gorgeous patchwork colors (www.boque.com).

Although the heat almost made us melt, it was worth it to meet some of fashion’s future stars.
