When I came to Chicago this past weekend for Alia’s wedding I was in need of a blowout so my hair would look worthy of the occasion. Carol suggested I try Stylisted because they would come to my hotel room. Sweet! Launched in June 2013 by co-founders Julia Carmona and Lauren Katzberg, Stylisted is an online platform (iPhone app available now too) allowing women to book in-home or office hair styling and makeup appointments from vetted beauty professionals. The company started in Chicago and expanding to multiple cities including NYC, LA and most recently, Washington, D.C.
The weather was not cooperating with me that day. While it was warm, it was a bit drizzly and humid which is disastrous for my hair. So I knew a straight style blow-out was not going to happen. When my stylist, Savannah arrived (promptly I might add) she agreed. We discussed my hair and what it could and could not do and decided that a straight-ish blow-out with some body was the way to go. That way it could tolerate a little humidity and not look ridiculous.
She was super friendly and quick, which gave me plenty of time to get ready for the wedding. My hair looked great all night. Would I recommend Stylisted? Without a question. For the same price as going to a salon, you can have the salon come to you.
Stylisted’s Gift Gorgeous e-gift cards are the perfect holiday gift solution for the woman who has everything, but a good blowout.
