And you thought all the cool T-shirt designers were on the left coast. For $160 you can purchase a limited-edition group of shirts from the famed Italian designer called Obvious classics #1. But Prada didn’t go at it alone, as she teamed up with Rem Koolhaas’ think tank to craft the shirts with an obvious cultural commentary. The ideas? Dream injections and style pills (don’t we have those already, ahem).
Tees From the Future
Prada’s in the Koolhaas
(MILAN) Miuccia Prada evidently loves a good T-shirt just as much as the next person. Her company has teamed up with Rem Koolhaas’ think tank, AMO, for a 27-piece collection of limited-edition tees called—what else?—Obvious Classics #1. Based on “billboards from the future” that Prada first displayed as large-scale projections during its men’s Spring/Summer 2007 show, the tees take a tongue-in-cheek approach to the fears and desires shaping culture today, suggesting such concepts as style-boosting pills and dream injections. The $160 white cotton shirts will be available starting this Sunday exclusively at 22 Prada stores worldwide.– Joanne Molina for Second City Style
